Wink different pan sizes and thanx

HI again, I first want to thank all of you who helped me with answers.I hope some of the more experienced bakers can help me out as well.There are so many wonderful chocolate cake recipe(e.g. Germans or old-fashioned with cocoa)out there but always used for a frosted or layer cake.Because I don't like frosting so much(calories...)I like to make cakes in loaf pans or my guglhupf pan.Can I simply take those recipes, measure out the cups my pan takes and bake recipes supposed as "flat" cakes in a loaf/guglhupf pan?Thank you again!:-)

Sure! The only cake that needs to be in a specific type of pan is an angel food cake. Other types may rise differently (i.e. more in the middle, less on the sides), but not to the extent that it will ruin your cake.

Cowgirl, you might want to adjust oven temp and cooking time a little to allow for the larger volume of batter. I'd just check a recipe for the size and shape cake (tube or bundt or whatever) and try those temp/time instructions for your recipe.
