Default Cheesecake question

I love making cheesecake but noticed alot of the recipes call for sour cream in the batter. I just recently put sour cream in my cheesecake and can't taste or see a difference in my cheesecake when I don't use sour cream. What does the sour cream add to the cheesecake...flavor, texture, etc.? Also, how can I make a brownie cheesecake with the brownie on the bottom and cheesecake on the top without one being under or overcooked?

Some people prefer a dryer firmer texture of cheesecake and other people prefer a soft creamy texture to their cheesecake. The sour cream cheesecake is going to be softer and creamier than the cheesecake without sour cream.

I’m a sour cream in my cheesecake person.

As for the brownie cheesecake…I don’t know. I would do a google search for a recipe and see what I could come up with and then experiment until I found one I really liked.

My favorite cheesecake is a sugar free lemon swirl cheesecake that has lemon curd in it… I’m diabetic. It requires some special ingredient that have to be ordered on the net to make it sugar free but it would be easy to convert it to a full sugar version if you are interested in the recipe. I also have a chocolate swirl version of the same cheesecake but my favorite is the lemon.

Brownie cheesecake sounds good. you can't over cook the crust. with a water bath and all the moisture on top of it. correct me If I'm wrong.you could also put the chunks of brownie in the middle of the cheesecake. like this.

or this.

That top cheesecake looks outrageously good, would you mind posting the recipe. Thanks
