| Hi All, New to baking i have a question, when you have cookie dough in a log shape you can slice the dough or spoon the dough out. But read if you slice the dough instead of spooning the dough you will have crispier cookies, how is this so? Sorry if this is a stupid question to any of the experience bakers. Bohh |

| I'm guessing it has something to do with the amount of surface cookie that's baking. When you spoon the dough, you have a little "mountain" of dough that needs to heat thru and spreads as it bakes. When you cut the dough, you've got more cookie surface cooking and you've controlled the thickness for a more-even bake. More moisture is "trapped" in the mountain shaped dough producing a chewier cookie. PS There are no stupid, honest questions - - only stupid answers. |

| I'm guessing because you will slice them thinner than spooning them out. with a spoon you will have a little middle mound. Also a quick tip if you didn't know that when you slice your cookies keep rolling your log to keep it's shape.. slice a few, roll it ...to or away from you..slice a few more ..roll..get the picture??? lol
