Default tasty kakes

Hi,

I know there was another thread asking about hostess cupcakes ,and I dont want to start any problems but was wondering if any one knew what the topping on a krimpet tasty kake would be? Is it the same thing as the other thread said hostess was a Fondant? Or is it a ganache(spelling) or a glaze? If so is fondant fairly easy for a beginner?

I'm not familiar with Tasty Kakes, so I don't know what the topping is, but I used ganache rather then fondant on my Hostess cupcakes. I'm not a fan of fondant- never worked with it, but the taste turns me off. I prefer to use natural (don't read low cal or partucularly healthy) ingredients- butter, cream, etc. on mine. Ganache is rich and can be made thick or thin.

Easy! Heat heavy cream almost to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in good quality chocolate chips. Continue stirring until melted and smooth.

Start with a cup of cream and about a cup and a half of chips. You may want to add more chips if you want a thicker ganache. Add some vanilla if you want. Some people add a little butter, but we don't. Google ganache recipe for more detailed directions. Really it's very easy. Even I can do it!
