| Here's another company that has sent my brother products in the mail: Mrs. Fields Cookies . Has anyone ever heard of this company? My brother really liked the cookies they sent him, yet never ordered anything. What are the comments, insights, etc., of those of you who know about this company? Please be assured that I am eagerly looking forward to all responses! ![]()

| Afra, Mrs. Field's is a chain coookie shop/bakery. Debbie Fields has several dessert cookbooks and most recently a line of cookies available at supermarkets. She did have a cooking show on T.V. as well( it may still be on-I don't know). Most shopping malls have one of her chain stores, you could try her products there. You could also look up "Debbie Fields" on Google.com to learn more about her. I hope I've helped.

| Thanks for that response....but is it safe to trust this company? I only ask this question because you mentioned the term "chain company" in your post....I have learned from others not to trust chains because they most likely will turn out to be scams. Is this correct? Or is there more to this? Thanks so much in advance for all the responses!

| I can't believe there's a scam involved here. Did your brother do a good deed for someone? My husband had someone (a stranger) send him cookies one time after doing a good deed (he found a wallet). It's a good gift when you don't know the person, cause everyone eats cookies, right? They didn't ask him to sign anything.....right? And they didn't bill him for the cookies? Nor continue sending them often? Sometimes mail order items don't enclose gift cards with messages inside the box, so you have to read on the front of the package, who sent the items. Mrs. Fields cookies is a very well known legitimate business and it would be a shock if they were playing any scams. I think someone liked him and was giving him a present. Maybe a girl freind????

| Thanks for your response, Wendy....I don't know if my brother did anything to deserve cookies that way. I do know that he wasn't billed for being sent these. The only mailing address I can remember being on the mailing label is the company's address; I didn't see anyone else's name on there. I have heard of the company before but never ordered anything so I just wanted to make sure. Thanks! ![]()

| Hi Afra I think maybe you were misinterpreting the word "chain". There is nothing inherently wrong with chains -- Olive Garden, Pizza Hut, etc are all chain restaurants that cater to mainstream America. Debbie Fields is a chain -- but I have never heard of any scams being affiliated with her company. However, there are chain emails or letters that have definately been scams. Also -- pyramid companies often are scams, maybe that is what you were thinking of? Anyways, just thought this might help clear things up! |

| Hehe, thanks for that response, bakerbebe, but I was only telling everyone what I heard from other people. I usually don't know about something or say something unless I hear it coming from someone else first. Then, that's when I start asking questions. Thanks for the explanation, though, it is greatly appreciated!![]()

| Afra, Your brother was most likely on some sort of mailing list. Some times when a company comes out with a new product (in this case the supermarket cookies) they will send out random free samples sometimes accompanied by coupons in an attempt to familiarize peolpe with thier products and encourage them to buy them. I have two small children and often get free samples in the mail for diapers and various baby products. I'm sorry if I confused you by using the word "chain" in my previous post. I hope everything is cleared up now.
