Default wedding cake help

have been asked to make my friends wedding cake and I am stressing about it!

All she wants is a simple one tier sponge but everytime I make a sponge they dont seem very tall, how tall is your average wedding cake, I am looking at baking a 9" cake so what height should it be?

Also one tin and cut or two tins?

Thanks in advance

Use two sponge cakes, cut in half to give 4 layers of cake and 3 filling.
What is your filling?

I like my wedding cakes about 4 inches high.

I agree to get a nice look you need to go for at least 4 inches high.
