Default Fruit syrups for Chocolate Truffles?

Has anyone used fruit syrups (i.e. Torani Orange, Torani Cherry) to flavor chocolate truffles? Would this be a bad thing to do? Recipes for chocolate truffles normally use liqueurs, but I want some kid-friendly ingredients and thought maybe fruit syrups instead? Anyone successfully done this before and if so, how much should I add?
