| i was wondering if there was a way to test baking powder tp make sure it work before baking something. i found a container of it while at my parents house and it was from 1996... i am wondering if it still works. thanks |

| Put 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of warm/hot water. If it foams to the top, the baking powder is still active. Pour a couple of tablespoons of vinegar into a small bowl or cup, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda, if it froths it's good. |
