How do you lable your products?

I have a good problem, My product line is growing and I need to keep printing up new lables for different items.

Question:

Do you have a main identity lable and then an item label or do you change the item on your main lable?

Print your own, get them printed at a print shop or use fernquist?

Help! I am launching the website next month and need to get a feel for labling.

a lot depends on your usage and quantities

the most cost effective way is to have them printed up by a label maker -

that way your labels will be costing you fractions of a cent each

but, each label needs a plate $35-100 and your quantities should exceed 20,000 - there are ways to deal with the quantity issues by keeping labels the same size and shape and running them
at the same time


if you dont need so many, there are several good computer programs for printing labels- we use Microsoft Publisher and PrintShop

we do both- in reality the labels we print ourselves cost a lot more ( by the piece) but we can change them at any time (re: ingredients, serving sizes etc) and we print just what we need

We have a several labels that are printed up- because they dont change and we will go through the quantities

but we print our own for many other items- the look is different, but it works
