We've been brining supermarket turkeys for some time now. However, my wife has arranged for a fresh-kiiled free-range turkey from a local farm for Thanksgiving. WIll this bird need/benefit from brining?
Well, I finally stripped the plastic gears on my 4.5 qt. mixer. Does anyone know where to get replacement gears or have the thing repaired?
It does, doesn't it. Wierd part is, my wife's family were upper-class Viennese.
My wife's family has their own specialty: hard-boiled eggs mashed up and mixed with the leftover salt water and horseradish -- served when other people would have gefülte fish. Anyone else do this?
