Writing/calculating the tip on the ticket...annoys me to no end.  I tip very well for good service. sometimes 50%....write it down like I'm too stupid to do math and I'll leave you that exact amount, including the pennies. 
I can see this in a very niche market, maybe in a big city like NYC. Gimmicy, but might do well.   I can invision something like momofuku Milk Bar having an actual bar.   Heck, they have full on 'dessert' bars...

sounds silly, but might be worth checking into. I just got either a middlesex county votech or similar flier in the mail that I 'think' had a sushi class among other cooking classes.   -Rob

Thanks, yeah I don't expect to go completely digital, just looking to do so where I can. Between my kindle and my wifes iPad it would be awesome to get a few good cookbooks on there. While I'm not going back to really 'convert' any...
Your list is good. I'd maybe throw a cocktail bar or two in there for some good cocktails.   PDT is fun... Pegu is the standard Employees Only is on the list... Death and Co - one of my favs.   Don't leave NYC...
I have had my Kindle for over a year. This year I plan on moving (from a 3 bedroom house to a small apartment) as well as 'minimizing' and getting rid of some things. One of those things is 'books' - I've pretty much gone completely...
Good review!   An espresso machine/grinder is on my list of things to buy....eventually.
