Yes KOKO you can brown the meat first sometimes i do this with roasts however with chicken and such i more or less stew them in the crock and then thicken the juices later. the reason for a large crock is occasionally i bring food into...
Does anyone know where i can purchase a large crock pot rival makes an 8 quart but i was interest in something 16 -20 if available. Also can i get away with using a large electric roaster do they have automatic shutoff?
Sometimes i like the advantage of slow cooking the meat plus it is very nice to be able to start the crockpot and leave the house as they shut off automatically i do not like leaving the stove going.
