Turbogeoff,

I'm presuming you are asking for how many ounces of meat, etc. per person to plan for when planning an event?

Are you doing a full scale Texas BBQ with all the meats, ribs, beans, potato salad, etc?

"Standard" portion sizes are 3-4 oz. protein, 1.5-3 oz. sides (depending on number of sides, menu, time of day, guest make-up, etc.

If going for the whole kit and caboodle, 1.5-2oz. side/person seems to be the going portion around here. If doing a variety of meats, most people are going to take some of each; many of the BBQ places around here reccomend 2oz/person/type of meat for 2-3 meats. If you are doing ribs or links, consider how they are served (whole links, halved, sliced) or for ribs (singly, in doubles or a slab). Consider the event (wedding, neighborhood BBQ, reunion, etc.)

If you post the menu, event type and number of people, I'm sure we would be happy to give you an idea of amounts --

Good Luck!
