chrose, I've been playing guitar for about 17 years now. I was going to do a restuarant based on the better side of metal and rock n roll, not saying the name cause it still might happen.

Interesting idea CDS if I ever get back out to visit my sister in Thousand Oaks I'll look you up and we can jam perhaps. Also I'll try to make it to the opening. One of my best friends was the lead singer for an LA based metal band, Saint Vitus, also of "The Obsessed". Ever hear of them? If not look up Scott "Wino" Weinrich on Google.com and you'll find pages and pages on him.

Anybody else like the Dead? I also enjoy Clapton, Jimmy Buffett, and Bob Marley? Ever thought of playing techno during the busiest times? Everybody working in the same aggressive rhythm! If you can tolerate it, it's fun!

| Here is my list. It depends on my mood. I like almost any music, except for some country, which has never been my thing. The Beatles (go to Beatlesfest in Chi-town every year),Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Jimmy Hendrix, Santana, Clapton, then there is Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, and some classical and a few local blues bands. I agree with you Billy, the White Album happens to me my all time favorite. During Open Lab at the school, when I keep it open late for my students, I play a local radio station that plays songs of alot of these artists. It creates a more comfortable atomosphere.Dare I say, it induces creativity? | chrose, those 2 are some of my all time favorate bands. My all time favorate band has to be Black Sabbath. I have lots of friends in bands all over the place. Some goods frineds, indeed. But, I don't care about all that fame bull$%^& anymore. I was in one good band at one time and they went on to be a big band. I know am a better cook then I am a musician. I never regret pulling the plug on it all, because I would've probably ended up like all those other lost souls, ether dead from an overdose or working in the pool cleaning business. ![]() |

I will listen to just about anything depending on the mood. Today's preference leans toward Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band, Bare Naked Ladies and Aerosmith. It all depends upon the mood of the moment. I like pretty much everything but Tom Jones. He's kinda creepy to me.

Okay, I know once this is posted, it's over. But here goes: It's not what you listen to, but what you sing. Pink Floyd: So, so you think you can sell twenty tickets from helllll... I wish I wish I had a beer An ice cold beer I drink pilsner And lager too I wish I had a beer The loonatic is on the grill The loonatic is on the grill Digging away the moments that make up the prep sheet The Beatles ahhhThe Magical Mysery tour Pearl Jam Thieven Ho steals my prep and gives it a-waaay Led Zeppelin (this is not meant to offend any one, it just goes together really well) I've been gay and confused for so long it's not true and AC/DC (I recently found this on Bob Rivers Sick and Twisted tunes, but it's the natural progression) Dirty deeds done with sheep Baahhh Okay, I know, BAD. I still can't figure out what to do with Dire Straits Sultans of Swing, I've heard it atleast once a day for nearly three years--I S*i* you not, it could be my day off and I'm at the grocery store and THAT song will come on.

I know this thread is old, but it's always a point of contention in this kitchen. So here's what's in the CD case today: Tori Amos, BTO, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Clapton, Harry Connick, Jr(3 of them), The Corrs(my current favorite), Elvis Costello, Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Kathy Mattea, Billy Bragg, Wilco, U2, Sade, James Taylor, Richard Thompson, Jethro Tull, Stevie Ray Vaughn (4 of them), Frampton Live, R.E.M., Pretenders, Sinatra, Dean Martin, B.B. King, Sarah Vaughn, and lastly the Royal Crown Revue. People go a little nuts when they see this mess.

Interesting thread to revive! My faves are PJ Harvey (my downer), Mano Negra (my upper), Cocteau Twins, Tom Waits, Stone Temple Pilots, Joao Gilberto, Chet Baker, Radiohead, Joe Dassins (French), Cesaria Evora. And hundreds more. If I was running a kitchen I'd probably play Mozart or Chopin; brain-music . Where knives are wielded, I'm not sure I'd want to play anything else! ![]()
