Post Help out a great chef

People who know the legendary Chef Jean-Louis Palladin know him to be a generous man, an enthusiastic teacher and a leader in the charge toward searching out the products of small local food producers to use in simple, fresh, and exciting ways.

What they may not know is that this vibrant man has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is being treated at Sloane-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in New York City.

A group of his closest comrades in arms (including Daniel Boulud, Alain Ducasse,Drew Nieporent, Eric Ripert, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Leon Pinto, President of Gourmand Inc. and Michael Ginor, President of Hudson Valley Foie Gras) have formed a fund to help offset the chef's medical costs.
The fund will be stewarded by attorneys Skolnick, Hochberg, & Bernfeld , and donations will be accepted in two ways.

Checks can be sent direct to the law firm, made payable to:
Skolnick, Hochberg, & Bernfeld as Attorneysand designated to:The Jean-Louis Palladin Medical Fund
The mailing address is:Skolnick, Hochberg, & Bernfeld, 122 East 42nd Street, NY, NY 10168.

ONTHERAIL.com has also posted a page to accept donations on their website, and will post the latest updates on his condition, at http://www.ontherail.com/site/news/palladin.asp

Please note that these deductions are not tax deductable.
All net proceeds will go directly to the fund for expenses. Give a little

Wink

Anyone watched "Charlie Rose" last night?

It was too late for me but hubby recorded it to allow me to watch it at my convenience.

I think there will be a special event on Sunday in New-York. Any New-Yorkers out there know more about this?

I once suggested that he could use coconut "butter" after draining the water out of the can in place of butter to finish off a sauce. JLP scoffed at first and then tried it. I'll contribute what I can. Some of you might have seen my fireplace kebab pic I posted here. I got that idea from him. Thanks Jean-Louis, my best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to you!
