| Hello, I've been working in the food industry about 4-5 years. I will be starting a new job soon and have been asked to write my bio. I have no idea what to write please help! ![]() |

| It depends on what you mean by a bio -- do they want a Curriculum Vitae (CV) or a resume?

| It's simple. Keep it to 100 words or less, write in the 3rd person ("he" or "she," not "I") and just tell'em where you went to school (if you did) and when, your last couple of restaurants and what you did in them. That's all there is to it.

| Don't be afraid to brag a little (in the third person) also. If you don't no one else will! Cruze the net a little, I am sure you can find a couple of bio's to read.

| Thanks guys for all your suggestions. It feels weird to give a bio, it does sort of feel like "bragging." ![]() |

| I'm taking a transition class right now for getting out of the military and they say that's the key to getting yourself a good paying job: Bragging. You need to make yourself look so much better than all the other canidates and then blow them away in an interview. I don't know how much the culinary world is oriented on resumes and things of that sort but I would imagine alot of the big restaurants/resorts use them. |

| Curriculum Vitae (CV) <<< Thank you so much for writing that. This may sound silly, but I had NO IDEA what that meant when I saw it on job postings...Now I know what the letters mean....what is the definition? Frizbee

| Friz – sorry, I've been out for a bit.... Curriculum Vitae: Course of life. It is the summary of your life's work, in career, education and otherwise. It would include not only your job experience and education history, but research, presentations, personal experience etc. Even if you are not looking for another job, it is a cool thing to create because it gives you the opportunity to recognize all that you have accomplished....
