 Personal Equipment and Tax Returns... Do you guys deduct the money you spend on knives, tools, uniforms, and cookbooks as a business exepense on your income tax returns?      |

| From what I understand some of these things are deductable from personal income tax if you do a long fourm tax (as opposed to ez). I am pretty sure any unifourm stuff (shoes, jackets, pants, etc.) are deductable. However, not so sure about cleaning, books, knives, etc. can be deducted from personal expensees (business yes).

| Thanks for the reply blueschef. I had been using the short form, but since I'm taking an accounting class this semester, I thought it might be "fun" to figure out the deductions etc. It would be neat to have the money I spent on my profession work twice. Looks like I better hit that Tax Code... |

| You absolutely can deduct those items, (I do every year). But you can't do the short form. You must itemize. Mark
