Default Dames vs WCR

ok ladies, a interesting development is occurring in STL.....a couple of Texan transplants are starting a chapter of Dames in the city. The gist I got from a short conversation with one of the local founders is that Dames is about raising money for scholarships and educating the members through programing.....Ok, fits my mission statement.....
Also appears that the membership comes from food professionals not just chefs.


My experience with WCR is pretty positive, the closest chapters are a day away.....but, the group appears to be chefs/restaurantuers that mentor each other and have educational programing fit to the industry. I missed last year's conference~money comes before play.

Those of you that are familiar with both I'd appreciate some input. (certainly PM or email if you desire).

I've never heard of either. Is that Dames as in women? wow.

Les Dames Escoffier.....it's a womens' group of culinary professionals, read into that writers, etc.

WCR....women chefs and restaurantuers....well, essentially women who cook.

Oh. I was thinking Dames as in post WWII lingo with stockings with seams.
