| Hi, I am a graduate student seeking some advice. I am currently seeking career advice. I have located my top three interests in cooking, group therapy, and ethics. I am asking experts in each field if any of them know of any jobs that would incorporate these three interests. If you can help me, I would appreciate it. Thank you. Pam |

| Ethics? Well, I know a PhD in philosophy working at a family style restaurant. Specializing in Ethics can bring great rewards but it takes quite a bit before you are recognized in the field. It's difficult to find work and most people don't realize what you do as a philosopher. It's wonderful work if you can get it. You work whenever you want to, you drink wine all day with fellow philosophers arguing about something like Kant's categorical imperative, and take notes on a napkin while sipping capuccinos at the McDonald's in Monterey. Actually, you're going to make ethical decisions all throughout your life. I don't see any instance where ethics does not permeate our existence. As for jobs which involve cooking, ethics, and counseling, I would say being a chef encompasses all that and more. I'd say just do what you love, get a gig in a restaurant and see how you like it!
