Hello Chefs, In the US, I use drops, dashes, pinches, teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, quarts, gallons, etc.. What units of measurements do chefs use the most in recipes outside the US? I am making a recipe converter and I want to include metric measurements. Thanks, David.

David -- Um...maybe no one has answered this because it's something you could easily find out on your own? Why are you "making a recipe converter" anyway, when they are printed in just about any good basic cookbook, and probably available online.

What I was asking was something like this: Chicken in White Wine - For 4 persons: * 1 chicken of about 1.5 kilos * 4 shallots, a clove of garlic, and parsley * 75 gr. butter * 100 gr. cream * 1 egg-yolk * ¼ litre Riesling, and a small cup of meat stock * 1 tablespoon flour * 1 spirit measure of Cognac * 150 gr. mushrooms * salt, pepper and a little nutmeg * 2 tablespoons oil What I wanted was what was the 'most' used by chefs in the UK for example. In the US we think of quarts and they do not. I work with buffets and banquets so recipes have to be mulitplied to fit the head count. Sure each measurement can be figured out to change the amounts but I want to make a program that will do the math for me and be able to save the results. Go to fruitsfromwashington.com and see what they have. I want to do something like that but in excel. David
