Default Background checks?

Interesting article on background checks for chefs on ChefTalk.com

Background Checks

Has anyone had a background check done on them? If so what was the size of the establishment? I do not recall ever having a background check done on me personally while working as a chef. But, I have had a background check done with my current employer.

Interesting topic I think.

I did have a background check done on me for two positions...one was with a hotel and the other a hotel/casino. At the hotel it was because as a member of the hotel staff I, in theory, had access to the guests rooms. At the hotel/casino there was the addition of gaming laws to contend with.

Background checks infuriate me.
My brief time in the mafia as a low-level enforcer helped my flambeing skills.

Times have changed. I would definately do a background check on all management. Unfortunately, as an owner, I am responsible for the actions of my employees. It's all about C.Y.A.
