| What is the precise meaning of Langostine? It's a big prawn according to the french and also the meaning of provencale? |

| Tricky one. For me, Langoustine is a lobster-like crustacean--WITHOUT the claws. Every country that has a shoreline has different names for seafood.... |

| The Larousse Gastronomique has them as resembling crayfish 15-25 cms long, but here in Provence what we call langoustines are smaller than that, although they still look like crayfish. And talking of Provençale, it just means 'from or of Provence' which is a region of France - the bottom right-hand corner, as we Geographers say.
