Wow! I have enjoyed reading lots of the posts after becoming a member this morning.

I have been trying to locate a chef (retired or not retired) to be on the board of the new concept of family restaurant I plan to open in the Bay Area. The ideal candiate does not need to live in this area but must be creative in the sense we can turn unpopular green veggies into something yummy and/or display them in such a fun way that kids would not push the plate away! Yes, must adore children as well.

Know anyone out there? or a good place to locate such candiate?

I'd also love to meet with other restaurateurs who recently or in process of opening a restaurant!

Hello FunCook and welcome to Chef Talk.

I'll move your post to a forum where more chefs will be likely to see it.

Good luck!

to be on the Advisory Board would be my first choice but it is also under consideration if a chef wants to be a partner.

Could you share a bit more of your concept? Sounds interesting.

For those of you who have children, you'd notice that when you take your them to a kid-friendly restaurant they will be given a few pieces of crayons and a coloring page (or some places give out coloring booklets). Most of the restaurants offer very similar dishes on children's menu.

Then there is another scenerio where kids are done with their meals since most restaurants like to serve their meals first and while the adults are trying enjoy theirs, kids are bored. They'd either running around, sometimes you can hear some shouting, thoughtful parents might let them play gameboys or read books, but most of the time it would turn out to be stressful for both the adults and children.

You can say that the concept was inspired by frustration that I, and many other parents have experienced.
