Im looking to buy a few new coats. I want cool different colord coats, maybe sea foam green, or beet red.

Do any of you know where i can get my hands on cool colord coats for cheap amounts of money but are still decent brands?

Need a Uniform on Watson in StL.....I pay about $32 a coat. $5 for my logo embroidered over the pocket.

The coolest duds Ive ever seen have always been modified by the owner of the garment. If you want a colored chef coat you should buy a white coat a bucket and some dye. Mix the color that you want in the bucket (mix it a little darker then the color you want to allow for fading) Test out the color on a random white piece of fabric. Let it dry then wash the fabric to see what color it turns out to be. Dunk your nice white coat in the dye and wa-lah, a custom made jacket that you would have more pride in then something you overpaid for.

I just can't fathom spending my hard earned cash on a forty to fifty dollar piece of "chefware" or the like. If I need work pants I go to the salvation army on wednesday 1/2 off clothing day and drop 20 dollers on seven nice pairs of black slacks. If I need chef coats I certainly don't buy overpriced name brand junk. I talk to the linen guy at our restaurant and see if they have any nice used stock they want to get rid of. Ill keep one name brand jacket for special dinners and such.

As for colored jackets I personally don't care for them all that much. I keep my jackets bright white because nothing screams pro like coming out of a crazy dinner rush with a nice white jacket,while on the other hand the new culinary student in the kitchen just ruined his name brand jacket with a wicked carbon stain.
