I am from Chicago and have not heard of a Kenrick college. A google search for Kenrick College yields no leads either.

Are you sure you didnt mean KENDALL College? If this is the case, I am a student there.

Kenrick's in your home town. It's a school of theology.

Shroomgirl,

The Dean of Culinary Arts at Kendall College, Chris Koetke, helped create this website/forum I believe.

I reside on the southside of Chicago, very close to the suburbs of Evergreen Park & Oak Lawn. I take the CTA downtown to Kendall because it saves gas, parking, and headaches from driving through downtown traffic jams.

If there is anything you need to know, dont hesitate to ask!

I am a graduate of Kendall. However, when I attended it was still in Evanston rather than the new campus downtown. Still have some connections there though...

I know it's been a long time since I was in the Chicago area but wow! Kendal has a Culinary Arts Program? My how things have changed. To give you an idea of what I had to choose from while there it was either JJC (Joliet Jr College) or COD (College of DuPage). Then again not a lot of exposure to the JW or NECI programs for us Chicagoans. Speaking of which.... Anyone out there that was in the COD program in the very early 80's with George Macht as the coordinator? Not intending to hi-jack things shroomgirl just curious.

not only does Kendall have a school of culinary arts, they have THE school of culinary arts in Chicago.

Standing out from the competition, a dedicated chocolate & sugars kitchen that is temperature controlled and with marble work areas.

A Kraft experimental kitchen allows students to occasionally tinker around with ideas and potentially discover something new for Kraft to sell.

Partnerships with Wolf & Sub-Zero bring the school ultra modern walk-in coolers, freezers, and range-tops.

I love the culinary facilities of the new Kendall, makes me kinda sad that I am going for Hospitality, not culinary.
