WHY? what does that have to do with Italian and French food? Not like I, as a 6'2" white guy, will ever be hired to work in a real Asian restaurant except as a pet.

I got my BA from Berkeley in '76 and speak fluent French. Italian and Roumanian come secondarily to me. Books on my shelf date from the 1600's. Talque to me.

Did several searches (I don't know about other people, but when I'm interested in something and want to know more, I prefer to spend my time asking rather than spending hours weeding through links for rude jokes about the French or someone's vacation stories of the great meals they ate on their vacation) since I opened the thread and found this on Utube HOTELTANGOTANGOPAULCOLONSLASHSLASHDUBBAUDUBAUDUBBA UDOTyoutubeDOTcomSLASHwatchQUESTIONMARKvEQUALLSuer 1srV060w. Not really chef oriented content, but it is food and it is in French!

I've had some time to also visit several pod casts. The CIA podcasts are a treat. But, after searching through a about 20 episodes of CIA podcasts, I've not found any content on language. A french speaker who would go over some terms would suffice.

Chefs use many different languages to describe techniques and food. The kitchen is staffed with many nationalities. The Food Lovers Companion is absolutely everything I needed for looking up terms and names. Its great read. I read a lot and this is a good one. I can't wait to curl up at home and read this diktionary from cover to cover. You won't hear from me for a while. eheheh Xtian
