Shoes

So I could not find a thread on this. I am tall and have big feet. I wanted to get a pair of danskos but the 48 are small for me. I need a 49. Right now I have a cheap pair of work shoes for kitchens. I really prefer clogs. I have a par of birkenstocks but they dont seem kitchen safe. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Have you tried Dansko's online outlet? They should have size 49 available.

Although I'm not a professional chef, I'm on my feet all day long in the ED. Dansko clogs are definitely comfortable and can make a long day on your feet seem more tolerable.

Honestly, I've had a couple pairs of shoes for crews and they just don't seem to last. They're pretty comfortable while they are intact though. Right now I've got some Kingston-McKnights and they're holding up really well and are really comfortable.

The shoes I have been wearing are made by "Faded Glory"...they have a very good non~slip lug sole, built in heel support, are comfortable, last a long time and I paid $13 plus tax.

I wear Birkie London's, with a non-slip sole.
I have wide feet and these fit me very well.
I've tried Dansko's but they were always too narrow, and I always felt like I was going to endo.
I actually have 2 pair of the London's, so when I wear one set of soles out I can have them repaired while wearing the second pair.
They are not cheap, but I've had mine for years and won't wear anything else.

I'm with the Shoes for Crews gang!!!! I've got a pair of slip-on's, a pair of wing-tips and a pair of clogs and I change through them all week they feel great on the old dogs!!! I can actually hear them purring when I take them off at night instead of SCREAMING!!!!!

Jim where did you get non-slip soles for the Londons. I looked on the birk page and they dont have anything unless im lost. I love my Bostons and would love another pair of Birks.

I can't remember where I first got them, but I get mine resoled here:

They don't list the non-slip sole, but they have it.
It's 10 bucks extra.

You just have to make note of it on the repair form.
Also, they'll polish them too, but again, you have to let them know.
