Default Where to move...

Hi everyone,

I was a member here, but haven't posted in nearly two years.

Here is the story, I am a chef manager at Stowe Mountain Resort, owned by AIG the insurance company. The incompetence at the upper management level is astounding. All orders are placed through our in house buyer who then buys strictly from US Foods. Even worse, the office changes orders and product regularly, so accepting deliveries is always a frustrating surprise.

The paperwork that I need to do is outrageous. I understand doing a weekly inventory, that is no problem. But, the paperwork takes up nearly 25 hours a week to go through. There are safety sheets that the whole staff needs to sign, things like avoiding stinging insects when you are driving your car. If a server has a short cash drop, you would think that the world was about to end. I spent three full days chasing a missing $42, and I had several hours of help from other management to find the money. In the end, AIG must have spent nearly a grand to NOT find $42.

Combine that with crappy cold Vermont weather, and I am ready to move.

That all said I am interested in checking out a few places around the country. If you need an extra body for a week and are willing to provide a bed and a shower, I'd be willing to check out your area and not charge for the time that I work.

I am specifically interested in Virginia and surrounding states, as well as Washington state and Oregon. I am open to visiting other areas as well. I will not, however, visit winter wonderlands.... That is what I want to get away from.

My job ends in less than a week, April 6th last day.

Anybody need a temporary body? I am game to try just about anything.

Thanks,

Derek
