Wasted Transitioning to a Hospital Cafe'

Hello Everyone,

You can call me the weird guy! This is my first thread so I wish to greet everyone humbly and share any ideas without disrespect. Today, I'm trying to make a difficult decision and it isn't easy. A friend of mine got me thinking about moving to another restaurant. It has everything I'm looking for in a job.

Though, the Wescanna feels like home right now, so it isnt easy breaking ties with my friends. Right now, the hospital is bending over *** backwards for new cooks and handing out good money. I'm afraid it might be too much to handle. Last time I offered long hours of work I caught insomnia for a month working as a fast food cook.

The choice is clear: I should take the job right away! Wescanna has moved me down to part time afterall. Not to mention, I'm getting sick of living in a town, without no oppurtunities. In a matter of fact, I'm so fed up, I started playing the lottery, no winning tickets yet! I'm just a young cook with dreams who doesnt want to spend his youth in a crime ridden town.

The next problem is I'm supposed to be training to be in top physical form for the nationals. The tae kwon do nationals! (Any martial artists here give me a keup! BONZAI!) This new job could cause alot of trouble despite it's worthy benefits. And so I've decided...

To turn to those experienced cooks on a random google search might feel this situation sounds familiar lol! Comments please. Thank you for listening.

Hmm I would advise against cooking institutional food. I worked in a retirement home for a month before I went insane from reheating pre-cut and pre-prepped food. No creativity what so ever. I'm also a young chef am my best career move so far as been finding the best restaurant or chef near you and work for them. You may have to start at the bottom but you will gain much more experience versus cooking at a hospital.
