I am trying to get some opinions on your favorite childhood desserts. I want to pick a fun one and re-invent it the best I can! let me know what your suggestions are!
I loved Apple Bette (apple brown bette, apple crumble) as a child and I've found that by using crisper apples and spicing the topping I still do. Also wonderful with peaches or plums, ginger or nutmeg added to the crumbles, etc.
Baked rice pudding, with a nutmeg and butter skin on top. After enjoying the pudding, there was always a fight to scrape the dish and get the crusty stuff off the edges

You know growing up I remember rice krispy treats the most. My Aunt made the best because she would put butterscotch in them. Made 'em a million times better!
