Default Microwave potato chips recipe

Ingredients:

Potato - 3 to 4 (Depends on the quantity you are going to prepare)
granulated garlic powder - 1tsp
salt - 1tsp
chilli powder - 1 1/2tsp
Curry leaves - 4 to 5 (More flavour will be there if you roast the curry leaves before adding)

and of course....Microwave oven (lol!)

Method:

Peel the potatoes.

Slice the potatoes approximately 1/16-inch to 1/8 inch-thick. The measurements can vary but the main aim is the potatoes must be thin.

To remove potato starch, rinse the slices in a bowl of cold water; change the water twice.

Wipe the slices thoroughly with paper towels so that the moisture is removed.

Sprinkle sliced potatoes with the spices mentioned above in the ingredients or just leave them plain.

If you have a microwave bacon tray, place the sliced potatoes flat on the tray in a single layer. If you do not have a bacon tray, use a microwave-safe casserole dish.

Rub the inside of the dish with some olive oil or spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Cover with a microwaveable, round heavy plastic cover. Microwave on HIGH for 4 minutes; turn slices over and continue to microwave on high another 3 to 5 minutes. Potatoes are done when they are lightly browned (if they aren't browned, they won't get crisp).

NOTE: Cooking time could vary slightly, depending on the wattage of your microwave.

Sankum, I remember some Indian potato chips that were spicy, firmer and thicker and even crunchier than the usual American ones. They were delicious. Do these turn out like that? (The guy who brought them from home was Gujarati).

Have you tried the recipe? In the recipe, Sankum said "Potatoes are done when they are lightly browned (if they aren't browned, they won't get crisp)."

You might want to polish up your attitude

Personally, I'm not sure I'd want to cook something dry in the microwave, but that doesn't mean I'm going to shoot down someone's recipe.

We're talking about potato chips. Can you have a potato chip that is crispy but not crunchy?

Never mind, this forum has an ignore list I see...

Thank you for this recipe sankum.
