Default Looking for some good Dip

Hello again everyone,

I went to a wonderful little farmers market today where I sampled a simply wonderful horseradish and bacon spread/dip for crackers and veggies. I was to cheap to buy some at the tourist prices they had on it, since I figured one of you may have a recipe for it you might share with me. This one was a sour cream base. I have already been running the possibilities through my mind of how they may have made it. Anyone out there got a similar sounding recipe?

Thanks Pam

I have made many different kinds of dips. I bought one that I think is better then what I make. The brand is ''Helluva '' bac/horseradish. By the time you buy the bacon, sour cream and other ingredients it pays to buy theirs, and its real bacon and real sour cream. / Waldmart has it $11.75-2.00 retail 12 ounce.

if ya really want ta try a real simple start would be sour cream, bacon, horseradish, dash o' worstechire....worsteschire...worschtchire..(forge t it)...salt and pepper maybe a small squeeze of lemon.

after a simple base like that you could add thyme, or capers or just try what you like.

start by mixing the sour cream and horseradish to the proper heat you want, probably around a 1/3 cup for a standard container of sour cream, depends how hot ya like it

best of luck

Thanks I hadnt considered capers. That might be interesting. Heluva Good is a big name in cheese but was unaware they had dips too. I will have to try that one.

I knew sour cream, hoarsradish, bacon crumbles, and i was thinking of roasted red pepper, maybe some roasted garlic in there too. Are there any spices that might be "just what the Dr. ordered" that anyone could suggest to throw in there??

Dash of Tabasco, some smoked paprika, along with what you've already planned. Just start simple, then maybe split it into several lots, and try different variations.
