| last night I had the best red clam chowder soup. I bought it at trolls' restaurant in Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver. Does anyone have a wonderful recipe - I'd love to try making it. |

| Try this one. I understand it's based on a Portuguese recipe. Rhode Island Style Clam Chowder 1 onion, diced 2 potatoes, peeled and diced 1/2" 1 16 ounce can tomatoes 8 oz fresh shucked clams or 1 large can chopped 1 bottle clam juice Saute onion in butter or oil. Add potatoes, tomatoes and clam juice, simmer until potatoes are done. Add clams with liquid. Add more water or clam juice if not liquidey enough for you. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and/or red pepper. Serves 2. When I was a kid, we used to go places in Rhode Island that served clam dinners which included this and clam fritters, which were greaseballs of batter with small amounts of clam bits in them. |
