| | | Doc's Prescription Doc Holiday will long be remembered for what he said to a man he caught beating up a girl just before he shot him in a gunfight "The worst thing that I can call you is that you are a human. Horses, dogs, even pigs treat each other better than humans treat cach other" Here is a drink invented by Doc Holiday, friend of Wyatt Earp.
1 ounce applejack
1 ounce bourbon
Mix together well
He drank about a fifth of this every day. He finally succumbed to tuberculosis.

| | Have you tried it? So didn't cure tuberculosis, at least in the quantities he drank...does it cure whatever else ails you? |

| | Gosh it sounds more like the good Doc was just trying to dilute the rotgut he swilled... in college I drank vodka cut with grape Kool-Aid but it doesn't mean I'd recommend the experience to others. |

| | Did you do Guyana Punch too....Jones wasn't it? Everclear....I think is kin to rubbing alcohal...they drank better and cheaper in NO. I remember going to Tulane games with whiskey sours...Frat parties had decent drinks.
Memphis was Kool aid and everclear or dbl vodka...amazing how much we go through to get to where we are. Wouldn't touch kool aid now for the world. |

| | | No I never tried that drink. I thought this post was a little history novelty. I was in the mood for a Western. Here is a drink I have tried, this one is rare.
Pisco Punch (A California Original)
2 jiggers brandy (Christian Brothers is fine)
2 jiggers white grape juice
2 teaspoons pineapple juice
1 teaspoon pernod
Mix well and serve over the rocks
This drink has little alcohol taste but packs lots of 'punch'! Any way, the Holidays are here. Let's all be safe and not sorry. Have a good one!! |

| | No one can beat the real Margarita, nearly forgotten in these days of tequila-plus-obnoxious-artificial-flavor-of-the-week:
juice 1 lime
1 oz Triple Sec (or other orange liquer)
1.5 oz gold tequila, Cuervo or better
dash sugar (optional)
shake with ice cubes, serve frothy. |

| | | | Shroomgirl,
The above concoction was one of the many that made me decide to part company with booze. The I.V. is one of those drinks that if it's chilled right, tastes great. (like a christmas tree) The next day is a horror not worth contemplating. Cheers |

| | In my opinion, there's nothing like a Sweet Martini. A sophisticated drink, without being self-consciously so.
Sweet Martini
1-1/2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
Pour over ice, shake or stir, and strain into a very small chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry, sweet if you can, Maraschino if it's all you've got.
The key to enjoying the drink is to own small martini glasses and keep them in the freezer. Some of the beautiful ones I've seen must hold 8+ ounces. A martini this size would be lost in a glass like that, but to fill a glass that big could make the drinker significantly less enjoyable.

| | | For all you gin and martini lovers, I have a tip. Try Tangueray 10. It is a new gin and it is great, but very expensive. They use fresh botanicals in it and it is so smooth you can drink it straight. Makes Bombay Sapphire look like rotgut. |
