| Does anyone have a recipe for wakame seaweed salad? I would like to know how to prepare the dressing as well as whether the seaweed is cooked or raw/defrosted. Thanks. |

| We ususally get dried wakame here. I soak it in warm water for about 10 minutes. If it has the stem in the middle, at this point you can just hold it at the stem and just pull the wakame right off the stem. It slides right off.The stem is very tough and should not be left on. Drain it. For the dressing, I simply mix about 1/4 cup of rice wine vinegar (regular white vinegar if you cannot get this product) and 2 T sugar. Some people like more sugar, taste it and see what you prefer, it should be sweet to temper the vinegar taste. Mix this together and pour it over your wakame.Let it marinade for about 15 minutes before serving it. You can add some crab meat or cooked shrimp to this if you like. Here is another dressing that is a bit more involved but also very good. Dressing (Sambai-zu) 2½ T rice vinegar 2½-cup dashi 4 t sugar 2 t soy sauce 1/8 t salt
