Default Lemon Cheesecake

I am looking for a recipe that was published in Bon Appetit many years ago (about 10). It was a lemon cheesecake that was made in three layers in a graham cracker crust. The first layer was cream cheese, sugar, eggs and lemon juice. It was then baked for a while. Then a layer of sweetened sour cream and vanilla was put on and baked again for a little while. The final layer was lemon juice and peel, egge yolks, sugar and possibly corn starch. After cooling the cake, it was garnished with mint leaves and curls of lemon peel. There is a similar recipe available at Epicurious website but it is not as good. Can anyone help?

Epicurious is the Bon Appetit website and they only have three years available on line. I don't really have a good idea of when the recipe originally appeared other than knowing that the first time I made it my mother-in-law was still alive and she died in 1988. I had the recipe in a database that I lost in a hard drive crash. The related software became irreparably ***aged and I was unable to access that cookbook despite having backups. This was one of the only recipes that I didn't have in hard copy form. I will double check whether there is a way to get it through BA.

It sounds like you have the recipe in your head. I would use similiar recipes for measurements and go from there. It sounds wonderful to me. I would also check your local library for back issues.

That is another good idea but the redevelopment of the recipe would be fattening, time consuming and expensive. If it rings any bells with anyone, I also seem to recall that it was part of a whole article on various types and flavors of cheesecakes rather than just a dessert recipe as part of another menu. I am hoping there is someone out there with a BA achive that can come to my rescue.
