Does anyone have a recipe for "Uncle Dan's" Ranch dressing powder? I have a recipe for a lovely chicken-and-pasta (or turkey&pasta) dish that calls for Uncle Dan's Ranch powder. But that darn stuff is a buck and a half now, and there's got to be a cheaper way to make it at home, isn't there?????
Here's my recipe for the dish: (it's great for using leftover Thanksgiving turkey)
1 C cubed, cooked turkey or chicken
1# frozen mixed veggies (your choice)
1 stick butter (or oleomargarine)
1 - 16oz pkg egg noodles
1 pkg Uncle Dan's powder
Get the noodles boiling, as per package directions. (those of you of the industrious nature could make your own home-made noodles, but I am just lazy) While those are cooking, saute the veggies in the butter. When they are getting al-dente soft, toss in the poultry and the Uncle Dan's. That should be about the time the noodles are ready to drain.
Drain the noodles, and toss the veggies/chicken mix with the noodles for a lovely, tasty pasta dish. We use this as a main dish, but it could be a nice potluck side-dish as well.
Bon Apetit, and thanks for any recipes you may have!
