| | Nine - Chicago Carol Wallack and I had lunch at Nine last week - I'm surprised I beat her to the punch here in Restaurant Rave. I'll be as objective as I can, considering I consulted - along with my partner Michael Kornick - on some computer and financial planning parts of the project.
The room is slick - you can tell tell they spent some money. The tabletop is sharp and so was the service. (I think they're through the problems with the door and phone.) Food was overall good, though some dishes could've used some seasoning. Nice steak frites and grilled ahi, though I was disappointed that ahi was the only fish main course offered at lunch. The menu graphics were hard to read - not very user friendly.
I would definitely go back for what I'm sure would be another positive experience.
They have an awesome POS, too! |

| | How was the service there? I have heard mixed reviews about it. Ranging from impecable to haughty and rude. Wondering how your experience was. |

| | I heard it was rough at the beginning, too. The phones were especially bad, I know from personal experience. Overall, though, we were happy with the service.
Even the valet didn't move my seat around and change the radio station - one of my pet peeves! |

| | | Hi David, I'm here, but you did beat me to the punch. I agree, overall it was a pleasant experience. Some one needs to introduce them to Salt and Pepper. That would be my complaint. Service was good, and like David said... lots of high points...
I ate at Les Nomades and Green Dolphin over the last weekend. Both were great. Roland is back at LN and it's as refined as it could be. GDS was FABULOUS and way over the top... Just Great. The chef, Rick Gresh, is very talented... You a bit of "Thomas Keller"-itis in the menu... not uncommon these days... However, they,at GDS, execute it very well. And the blue cheese ice cream is to die for...Kim is a talent in her own right. |

| | Sorry, my geekiness is showing! POS stands for "point of sale" - what amounts to a cash register is actually a very sophisticated computer database system. They're one of my consulting specialties. | |
