Post Dining well in the Heartland

There is culinary life between the coasts and north of Chicago: Sanford in Milwaukee. It's Sandy D'Amato's place, and he knows how to put out a superb meal.

Well, Mezzaluna, as our resident "cheesehead", care to share a little more?

Cheesehead yes, foodie yes, chef- no. (Now my secret's out!! But my brother IS a trained chef.). All I can say is, the duck breast was melt-in-the-mouth tender, the plates were the soul of simple beauty, and the flavors.... the flavors were intense. I'll never forget the cumin wafers with the starter and the macadamia-caramel tart. The service was first-rate. He deserves his accolades, IMHO.
