Well Carol, Funney you Should Mention New Orleans. I Just Got Back Yesterday. Go To K-Pauls WOW what a meal. Probly the only true Creole Choice in the french Quater. I did the Emerils thing as well. Very Good as well But Bring Your un-maxed Credit card with you. go to Mothers for really good Po-Boys & some N.O. Sass. My Wife & I stayed at the Maison Dupuy & they have a very good Restaurant in the hotel, Dominicks. Stay away from the Bourbon St. Restaurants over priced & over rated. if your going to travel out of the city than go to Laffites Landing in donaldsonville. Chef John Folse's Place it's about a 1/2 hour away the place burned down not too long ago but I think that he rebuilt- ask around for it. Go to Central Grocery for a true Muffaletta Sandwich. Comanders Palace & Brennens & Mr. B's Bistro is very good too. Carol There are so Many Places to go I would be here all day telling you about them. I hope that the ones above will help.

Have fun & Drink a Hurricane for me
Brian

thanks, Bri. I actually have 5 or 6 days and nights in New Orleans. So, you've given me a lot of "food for thought" Thanks. Looking forward to the trip.

Cool

Bri's suggestions are all on target, but don't miss Bayona, Susan Spicer's place. Also, for an out of the way place, I like Upperline, which has great food and a somewhat quirky atmosphere.

I have to second the motion on going to Bayona, Susan Spicer's place. Her food is outstanding and I have always been a big fan of hers!

I don't know if the name has changed it's been alittle while.but the Red Room right outside New Orleans in very good. Lounge type setting very cozy, very pricey but it was worth every cent. Down on Bourbon Street I like Acme Oyster Bar, The food was great and plentyful. And Dan Ackroids House of Blues had good food..more festive place..Hope you have a blast...The plantation tours are great.
