Wink I Need Some Suggestions For Restaraunts For The Next Three Weeks, Please

My boyfriend is coming to see me next Wednsday and I want to go out with him to restaraunts and other places; he'll be here for 3 weeks. Anyone know of any good speciality foods that we could try? If you don't know Post Falls, you could just name some dishes like something that has roast beef, etc., in it, and we can try to find the restaraunt. All responses and suggestions will be greatly appriciated, as I am currently thinking about being able to take my boyfriend to Applebee's, because I have never been there yet.

Afra,
Go to www.dinesite.com
You can put in your area code and they have ratings for local restaurants. As far as ideas for meals, eat what you like, or what you'd like to try out for the first time. What are your favorite foods? Your boyfriends? What kind of atmosphere do you want? Keep that in mind when choosing. If the weather is nice enough you could even prepare a meal for him yourself and have a picnic at a local park. I hope I've helped.

Afra, as a general rule stay away from anything that has a commercial on TV unless you are stopping off for a quick bite or you have kids!!! If you and your boyfriend want to have a nice time out... go someplace that is known locally for their great food... every area has a great steak house!!! Also Japanese resturants are great because it is such a unique dinning experience!

Yawn

Thanks for all the responses and suggestions; the only reason I ask about such restaraunts, etc., as I post is because I don't really go out to restaraunts a whole lot myself, not really having a whole lot of money to be able to afford to do that. Therefore, I don't really know what such restaraunts as I post are really like unless I ask around, like I have been doing with all of you helpful folks at Chef Talk, for which I am truly grateful.

I will ask my boyfriend where he wants to eat when he comes here because he goes out more often than I do. I just thought the suggestions of those of you at Chef Talk would help us out more in choosing a really nice (and healthy too) place where we can really enjoy and experience what dining is really all about.

I don't know anything about Post Falls but you are very close to Coeur d'Alene and not far from Spokane - both of which probably have some good dining options. Check the papers and local magazines for reviews and see if something sounds good to you. A drive up to Sandpoint for brunch would also be really nice...pretty drive and a lovely town.

Coeur D'Alene particularly will be a bit spendy. If this is an issue and you want to try new things why not investigate some recipes and make some nice dinners at home. You can try things this way that might be very expensive in a restaurant but that you can make at home a little cheaper.

The suggestion of a picnic is great - you live in a wonderful part of the country for picnics.
