It is a run of the mill chain pasta place kinda hokey too lol. Their commercials try to make u think that relatives from Italy wanna go there when they visit yeah right.

LOL, holydiver, I think that is too silly! But it is still ok to eat at is it? I've been wanting to try the pasta they have; I have recently discovered a while back that pasta is one of my favorite dishes when prepared in a great many different ways.

Afra,
Holydiver is right. I have only eaten there once (my visiting family wanted to eat there ) It's just a chain, if I were you I'd find a nice local italian(not a chain) place instead.

Not only do I think the Olive Garden commercials are stupid, I find them offensive. I'm Italian and am embarrassed by those stupid things. Heck, I'm not even P.C., but those chap my *ss.
Look at it this way, Afra. By avoiding all those crappy chains, (olive garden, Applebees, or the OutbackLonestarHooters Cafe) you can accomplish a number of things. 1: You keep people like me, cape chef shroomgirl, Devotay, and and all the other devoted, hard working chefs employed. 2: You contribute more money to your local town. 3: You eat better. The food I cook starts with the best I can get and is cooked by me for you. The food you get in a chain is made in a factory with God knows what kind of ingredients and then poured out of a bag. When you see them cooking in the commercials, that's how I do it, not them. Finally, by not giving them your business, you are saying that you've had enough bad food and demand better. Afra, chefs don't work in chains. These chains make an absolute fortune and pay minimum wage. To **** with the lot of them. Sorry for the rant. Chris

Thumbs down

The rule of thumb is this:

If they advertize on TV, they aren't worth visiting. They are usually pretty bad.

A good restaurant gets its reputation from word of mouth!

The only non-independent Italian type place I could even stomach is Macaroni Grill they are actually pretty decent fod wise and they pay ok is it real Italian no but it's not bad. I know what you are saying I'm half Sicilian I hate the patronizing tone of their commercials.

Post Anyone Ever Been To This Restaraunt?

I just saw another thread in this restaraunt forum that made me think immediately of the restaraunt called "The Olive Garden". I see from the commercial on TV that they have a great variety of pasta and other Italian dishes.

Has anyone ever been to this restaraunt before? I don't know if this restaraunt is located all over the country so I can't really tell if you all know which restaraunt I am talking about. I have been wanting to go to this restaraunt lately and I am thinking about doing so next week or so, because someone I love very much will be here.

I would like to see some input here of those of you who have been to this restaraunt so I can get a picture of what it is really like. Perhaps Papa, who has a passion for olives, could share some information, etc., here? I eagerly look forward to all the responses to this topic and I thank everyone in advance who does respond!

Thanks for all your input and suggestions, guys! They are greatly appriciated! Now I know what kind of restaraunts should be avoided and which are ok for you. I only ask around like this because I wasn't taught properly when I was young, so now I am a curious person, being on my own now, with no one to stand in my way. If I never ask any questions like this, I won't know the things I need to know.

Mofo, I understand your frustration and I must say that I am truly grateful for you posting on my topic. And to answer holydiver's question, the restaraunts I am looking for are located either in Post Falls or in Couer d' Alene, because my boyfriend is coming to Post Falls; I am not going to Denver. I might ask questions about the restaraunts in Denver when it is my turn to visit my boyfriend (and move there too, because I still have that job waiting for me in Denver).

Once again, please let me say that I really appriciate all the responses to this topic and all the help. Keep up the good work, everyone!
