Post Home Chefs at the Crossing

Long time no type.....been outrageously busy the last few weeks..... so let's see if I can make up for the neglect...

Last night Barbara Shinn and David Page (Home restaurant and Shinn vineyard) took a writer and me out to dinner at the Crossing in St. Louis. We put our trust in chef/owner Jimmy Fiala....he sent out 2 different dishes each course...
1) gazpacho with crab
spring pea soup puree with grated dry cheese (didn't catch what kind)
2) beet goat cheese salad
red pepper white anchovies
3) scallops with shrooms and morels (lots of morels for all of us
4)tuna with red wine sauce
White fish(halibut???) with foie gras
5) lamb chops with asparagus
beef with blue cheese and a redux with wild asparagus
6) crepes with strawberries
lemon ice with candied zest
molten choc cake with vanilla ice cream
whew....
what an incredible meal...great company, great food, great wine.

Today for lunch I had a media lunch using foods from their book (Home)
radish salad
roasted chicken
mashed potatoes with mushrooms
garlic greens
chocolate pudding (to die for)
was great, glad I have the book.
