Thumbs down Technicolor Kitchen

My husband and I had eagerly anticipated our
night out at Technicolor Kitchen, considering
all the rave reviews it has gotten recently.
Needless to say we were very disappointed.
The service was acceptable so I won't even
dwell on that. (We should have known something
was up when the table next to us sent their
pasta back because it was cold) My husbands
first course was crispy crab and something
spring rolls. They were neither crisp or
crabby and the dipping sauce was way to
salty-$9. My salad of haricot vertes, fennel
and goat cheese was fine. The entrees were
O.K. My miso glazed salmon was a good, petite
portion, and cooked perfectly. My husbands
stuffed Chicken breast was mediocre, needing a
sauce and maybe some sort of starch.
Time for dessert and the menu comes printed
with very small font and the waiter gives us a
magnifying glass to read it.How stupid and
annoying is that?
Now for the bad news, I have always judged a
restaurant on their apple tart. Easy to make
but even easier to make bad. It was
basically apple pie filling(barely warmed and
not Chai spiced) with a small square of puff
pastry on top and a scoop of ice cream-$7.
This was the worst apple tart I have ever had.

It seems like they have really put a lot
of planning into the design of the space,
interior and exterior. I wish they would take
some of that time and refine what is coming
out of the kitchen. I wonder what we missed
at Technicolor Kitchen that everyone else has
eaten that has gotten such great reviews.
Don't bother.

Thumbs down

ditto, miss margie.... I thought is was less than mediocre, too. Service was worse than the food. Did you go to the bathroom.. Very nice.. Maybe they should do interiors!
