Wink Mendocino recommendations

Hi everyone

I am going up to Mendocino next week, and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to eat? Also, I will be spening a day in the Anderson Valley area...any recommendations on "must visit and taste" wineries? Thanks!

Oh Michelle, where are you staying?--that area is so nice. We used to love going there in October and staying at the Heritage House (where Same Time Next Year was filmed--weather on the coast always seemed to be nice that time of year) and I loved eating breakfast out on the deck with the view of the water.

So many nice wineries too....I'll be interested in the food/wine recommendations you get from the folks here. Hubby is also a microbrew fan so we would try some of the pubs along the way..but it has been 9 years since we've visited!

Have lots of fun!

Hi Deb!
We are renting a little cottage right on an ocean bluff. It is between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. When I was looking for places, I was actually thinking of "Same Time Next Year" (love that movie!), but I did not know it was at Heratige House (thanks!). I have never been, and I am looking forward to the R&R before I start school again.
One place we are having dinner is called MacCallham House. The sample menu from the 'net looks wonderful. I will let you know how everything goes.

PS I am glad everything turned out okay for you after "the quake"

Oh...the little cottage sounds both romantic and relaxing...I can just visualize the beautiful scenery from the bluff!

While you're in Little River, stop off at the Heritage House, they used to have a book with pictures of all the different cottages/rooms. Same Time Next Year (unless it's changed) was split up into two little cottages and you can walk around the grounds and peek in. (loved that movie)

Yes--you'll have to post your meal reviews after you get back!
