Yes, you must try the Don Q Cristal or Don Q Limon (has lime in it already). The most outstanding of Puerto Rican rums, I hear tell it is only available in one location in the states. I picked up two bottles at the Duty Free store on the way back. Didn't last long. Next time, I take fewer clothes to make more room for more Don Q!
Didn't eat anywhere for local stuff. Puerto Rican food is very bland in general. Plantains (green and yellow) in almost everything!

Rice and beans everywhere you go. WhATEVER you do, don't eat in a restaurant called Oregano. Worst Italian food I ever had. Couldn't believe the prices were skyhigh. There is also an Argentinian Steakhouse right next to Mangere Italian restaurant in Dorado that was highly recommended to me. In San Juan, there is a restaurant that people raved about which I beleive was "authentic" called Su Casa or maybe it was Mi Casa. San Juan is supposed to have a whole lot more good restaurants than Dorado.
There was a small cafe on the corner of the road leading to the Guidant plant in Dorado that everyone said was real authentic
PR food, but the menu is all in Spanish, y mi español no esta muy bien!
