Clown LL Dent in Carle Place, NY

LL Dent Restaurant - Southern Style Cuisine - Long Island, New York

Had lunch yesterday.

Sooo good!

Try the desserts, they will knock your socks off.

The pulled pork and grilled cheese (children), french fired sweet potatos, slaw, need I say more??

Yummy sounds all around.

ummmmmm my favorite, southern food. I could have just ordered the whole "sides" selection.
STL has a soul food restaurant that is in a rough neighborhood (as in park your car so you can see it as you eat and for goodness sakes don't even think of eating in the area after dark.....and I'm not overly lilly livered).
Mississippi based, same type food....smothered pork chops, best fried chicken wings, great mac and cheese, sweet potatoes that could be dessert, white buttermilk cornbread.....but the desserts are poop, and that is so disappointing. What I'd give to have real vanilla wafer/scratch pudding banana pudding or sweet potato pie or just a scratch piece of chocolate cake. It would save me from making a whole batch just when I wanted that one serving.
LL Dent looks like it's from North Carolina with the pound cake, mustard sauce BBQ.....
It's interesting to see the crossover as well as differences amoungst southern foods.
And your moving?
