So the now Wife and I were honeymooning in Disney and I figured I would make the most of it. Since im still techincally a culinary student even though im almsot done with there program, I Figured I would experience the cuisine in Epcot. Its branded as authentic and straight from that country and blah blah blah. So I made reservation for a Decently high class type of place. Im not expecting 4 stars, its still disney. Well I was getting all excited to go eat out in france. We get there and It didnt start off well. The all french staff were good. I get a French Onion Soup and the wife got the lobster Bisque. Looking at the bisque it was so greasy, they never removed much of the fat from the stock. mine was kidna fatty too. I ordered the beef short ribs and she got the roasted chicken. I was so dissapointed with mine and her plates. the portion control was horrible. i had 3 carrots which were over cooked and tones of polenta. her chicken was dried out, over cooked. Now is this how it is out there? or in france or where ever. I felt liek epcot was very steriotypical american version of it. Im jsut looking for thoughts, opinions etc...

I've always enjoyed the food I've had a Disney, been several times, some places are better than others, Victoria and Albert's, California Grill, Jingo (sp? restaurant in Animal Kingdom Lodge) are my favorites. There is a steak house in the Canadian part of Epcot that I remember as being fantastic. Also the restaurant in the Moroccan part of Epcot was exceptionally good. I think overall Disney still has to cater to "American Tastes" but it's hard for me to remember a bad meal I had there.

I wasn't blown away by the quality of food in Epcot when I was there last spring for the first time. We got some small things from several "countries" and none were amazing but everything was good. We did have a very good dinner at a restaurant on the boardwalk that night but the name is escaping me. It was a seafood place and there was a candy store right next door...

If it was at the Boardwalk and a seafood place maybe it was the Flying Fish Cafe...

I remember getting stuck in the rain at epcot with my family. Guess which country we were stranded at for dinner? Canada. Meat pies anyone? Buffalo? I was a kid so I wasn't thrilled. So funny! Oh also, we were kind of cheap so all 6 of us shared one bratwurst with saurkraut for a snack, and ate at cheap Mexico for lunch.
