Question Most restaurants -- bar & dinner the same?

Interesting question for all of you. Along with some of our less thoughtful gifts this year my husband and I received a few gift cards to chain restaurants like Olive Garden, Applebees, etc. Suffice it to say that these are not usually the kinds of places we eat at (we actually don't eat out all that often, either), so my husband's first instinct was to use a swap site like Leveragecard for Bed Bath and Beyond credit, or the like.

However, it occurred to me that we do often go to the "bar" section of these restaurants for business meetings or sometimes with friends on weekends. Aside from the tackiness of whipping out a gift card in this kind of setting, do most bars accept this kind of payment if they're part of a restaurant? It seems like they should, but there's so much fine print...so swap or stay is the question.

they have everytime I've used them.

I use them for the same thing you do...a yell to my co-workers that drinks are on some dumb sh*t that bought me an applebees gift card tonight...

Ha, interesting, thanks for responding. Figured someone would if it was up enough. Interestingly enough, not EVERY restaurant does allow gift cards to be used at bar, but your comment is very encouraging...I'll have to look at each one more closely before resorting to leveragecard or what-have-you...

The other thing I thought of is that paying for drinks with a gift card is just about the antithesis of cool, but whatever.
