Had a most amazing lunch there on Friday.
1st course was a Lemon Risotto, with clams and celery root puree
2nd was sirloin with short-rib ravioli and snap peas....
dessert was chocolate bread pudding.
I hated leaving there as the food was so **** good....everything about it....texture, taste, smell, presentation was nothing short of "perfect" (for me in any case)
I'm pretty much spoiled, and lots of people will be hearing "yeah, but it's nothing like that lunch at Gramercy"......
Service was of course excellent, price was well worth it, with drink pairings for each course, it came to ~200....but 1 of the pairings was a 21$ glass of wine (each) ...I forget the name but it was a VERY tanic italian wine....
my host had the smoked trout for first and my same second and third.
I've eaten a lot of places, and maybe my palate isn't as sophisticated as some, however, this lunch ranks in "my" top 5 meals of all time....
I did a little search and came up with a picture/video of Michael Anthony talkign about my first course (although mine had clams and pine nuts in it)
